False Evidence Appearing Real

I recently brought a bring of mine to try out rock climbing. She was very eager to try it out when she hear of the idea. However, little did she anticipate the heights she had to climb. In her first climb she could only do half way.

She was just too afraid to go further. The good thing she then did was to clarify how the belaying works, what happens if she misses a holder and falls. I also thought her a few moves that would help her.

When she attempted it again... she made it!

You should have seen her face! The great sense of accomplishment of being able to conquer it!

Leadership activities: Don't believe me... Feel it!

There seems to be a lot of discussion about fear. Believe it or not, all of us are actually learning to cope with it. There are many people I know who cannot progress in their career just because they fear being a leader. There are also many people who fear having a lot of money!

Nevertheless, fear really means... False, Evidence, Appearing, Real! Sometimes, the only thing one has to do is to talk about it and get better clarification of what to expect. That would give us enough confidence to face it and to manage it.
